Jesse, you could be right about this guy's apology being a horseshit apology. Why? Because you said that your daughter had a lot of contact with this guy & his wife & he never apologized. The first thing he should have done was to take your daughter aside to apologize, yet it took an elder of the church hearing about it from a friend of your daughter for him to call this guy & your daughter together & then he apologized. That's pretty sad.
The elder said that was the end of it then, but that is only the end of it when your daughter says that is the end of it. Only she can decide. It may have been a horseshit apology as you say but maybe it wasn't, I don't know. The thing is it seems to satisfy your daughter. If you think your daughter was coerced into letting go that's one thing, but if she did if freely, then that's another.
