So, yes, it is quite possible and I'm sure it happened a lot behind closed doors. So, I don't agree with Miguel on that point.
Miguel didn't say that abuse didn't happen behind doors but that he thought those who didn't know abuse was taking place were a handful.
The Davidito book was out early on, when the average age of children must have been around his. It was very different in the 80s, where were abusers had more children available, and even worse in the 90s and so on. What had been widely public had to go into seclusion due to bad publicity but where is the line for abuse to be recognized as abuse? Who decides where it is, the abuser, the abused?
Also, while many are using the word abuse to mean only sexual abuse, it really includes a lot more than that. I wonder how many of us here are abusers. Ha!
