I absolutely agree with you on this Albatross. In the context of the twisted family though, this behavior was increasingly encouraged and in some cases coerced. ( In that the adult involved would not have engaged in this behavior, and was uncomfortable doing so, even in the family.)
How does a person who abhors certain behaviors find themselves involved in them?
Certainly and unequivocally, no minor child should ever have been abused. Neither should any adults have been for that matter. Children are all too often the victims of their respective societies. Whether it is child brides in India and other Eastern countries, or gypsy cultures (hmm wonder if this is why Berg had a supposed "gypsy" spirit guide, adored gypsies, the stealing kind, and wanted to make a big push into Eastern countries.) I hate what happened to family children and to their parents as well.
