What is the current state of the Family?

I read the article by Lauren on MovingOn & think she nailed it pretty good. The Family is going thru a tightening-up phase right now. It's their continual cycle of change, first a relaxing of rules,then a clamping down, then another relaxing & another tightening up. They never seem to learn. & like Lauren pointed out they wonder why in hell they're suffering a financial drop when they just finished teling everyone to quit their well-paying system jobs & head out to the mission fields. So they're suffering for their stupidity & of course blaming it on the poor sheep.

The crackdown on Brazil & seizing of Home assets was part of the tightening up & we've never heard the end of that yet either. How many people decided to leave because of that? & the big thing then was they were supposed to fast & not view exmember boards & now it comes out that current members are still 'disobeying mama' & reading these boards. I think Maria realizes shes losing control. & that's what she wants more than anything -- to control other people's lives.
