Thanks for wading through it. I pray that it is a help to someone. I look at my life in the family not as a waste, but as a learning experience, and I know that now and in times to come it will be necessary to rely on some of that experience to relate to others. Learning to trust in God after trusting in COG leadership is quite a radical change, but I'm getting the hang of it. It's still a day by day thing. I am a lot like Peter when Jesus told him: "Satan hath desired thee to sift thee as wheat, but I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not. Without faith, we have a very miserable existence. It's still hard though, as some of the 2nd gen'rs have had their spiritual concepts raped and ravaged by the abuse of the cult to the point that they just simply don't know what to believe. At least that's what I've noticed in some. My prayers and hope are with them, and I pray that I can be of some help in any capacity. I'm rootin' for them, and believe they can make it. At least us old farts had something to relate to when we made the jump. They have nothing, and are subject to every scam, pitfall, and offbeat proposal that comes down the pike. God be with them!
