it makes me feel like I'm supposed to know the verse, or be religious enough to care to look it up for myself. It makes me think I'm outside the club, and outside the discussion since I don't automatically know what you're talking about. Is this the default understanding that this verse is something everyone should know. I know you mean well, but it invokes a negative feeling inside me.
