Why not let things run their course?
If it was indeed conclusive, the question wouldn't have been asked. To this person or persons, this particular direct question was never actually asked before, and answering it might help settle the matter conclusively.
As long as it is phrased as a sincere and polite way, it should be healthy to deal with these queries from multiple angles. It may be tiresome, insulting, and even quite intense at first, but once these questions have been answered, they are on record here. We'll see to it they don't go on forever.
Besides, whether tiring or insulting, LB representatives seem to have no problems answering these questions in a calm professional manner, and this speaks volumes, and does them only good.
If we get between the questions and try to buffer them from "grilling," it will just seem like an attempt to cover up. It's just the way it works, unfortunately.
We've received some information and mails which convince us of this very strongly: let them answer whatever is being asked, and settle these points once and for all - it's in their best interests.
Sincerely
Coordinator
