I tend to agree with your well-expressed views. I was speaking a little out of frustration when I threw out the idea of you expressing your opinion.
My view of Sam's views and methods is more negative than yours. I have yet to see a lot of the good he does. I have seen the harm. Perhaps his caveman tactics were appropriate 15 or 20 years ago, but I feel he has become an embarrasing anachronism -- an offense to right-thinking respectable ex-cultists. He needs to either shape up, or retire, in which case we can give him a place in the cult-bashers hall of fame. In my view, if he refuses to change, he has no place among responsible ex-members who advocate against the cult.
These SGA ex-members who advocate against the group put Sam and his ilk to shame.
I think that what Sam does now will tell the tale. If he enthusiasticly corrects the record, deletes the defamtory material from his online newsletter, publicly apologises and pledges to exercise a little more due diligence in the future, then that will be a good thing.
I guess we'll see what kind of person he is.
If Sam demonstrates a desire to change, then I will be forgiving and forgetting. But in my view, it cannot go on business as usual.
For the record, I have no beefs with the management here. You're doing a pretty good job, all things considered. Better then I could ever do. Thanks
