Sam, could you please clarify this statement?
"I want to also take this opportunity to go one step further and say that even things that I did agree confidentiality to before or after my rule, I reverse that here and now, and I declare those confidentiality agreements void."
I can't remember ever telling you much in a private e-mail that you had promised to keep confidential, but if I had told you something that simply had to be confidential (because it dealt with a sensitive situation) and you had promised confidentiality, I would be slightly alarmed by this new statement.
I understand your reasons for an up-front policy not promising confidentiality when people tell you things -- so many that you forget who said what, and who you promised confidentiality on, and who you didn't. And I understand how maddening it can be to know something but be unable to talk about it due to a promise. But if you promised to keep something to yourself, and you remember that promise of confidentiality, shouldn't you honor it?
I ask you to reconsider and modify your statement.
