I studied cryptography a bit, and even wrote some programs that did some pretty good encryption. But, you are absolutely right. The best encryption process in the world won't stand up to a person who knows the key being willing to share the info.
Who knows, maybe that is what the whole "power of the keys" thing will boil down to in the end?
