Well Ray I think that was a nicely crafted group of statements and very encouraging.
-I would agree that obsession as in analysis replacing our lives is not a good thing.
- As you say, our experience is in another league, this ain't no regular middle-age crisis.
- I truly believe in moving forward, for me it has not been an even process.
- If you noticed I made reference to purging the toxin, not declaring it a toxic waste site. It is, however, hard to separate the the keepers and the dogs at times. It also is very hard for me to not to be affected by the negatives when remembering the positives.
- I certainly agree it is not just black and white, if it were it would be easy to distinquish what is pure and lovely.
- I do not actually relate so well with your last paragraph. I understand about facing up to my screw-ups but as to the spirit of Job or the conviction of the HS that is a personal issue for each of us I think
- I argee with you that God does not abandon anyone. Sometimes, however, the nature of His mercy and purpose is hard to accept or understand and causes me to struggle from time to time. I may appreciate and understand the better values of the experience but that does not always help. In going on with my life I am not about to forget that the family values abuse and kill. There are very few books on spiritual abuse that can even begin to address the depth of healing required in the journey out of the family.
-The family way is a truly bleak theology. Most members were worked hard and used harshly most of the time, particularly women. The leadership methods in the family were reflective of the dark black and white view of the founder. Remember ".. if the truth kills, let it". How bleak is that when applied to others by someone as insane as berg?
- There are facts regarding the behavior of the family that were black and white and no amount of distinquishing can change that. Abuse of children is wrong, pimping and prostitution is wrong and not a victimless crime. Making money off of criminal activity is wrong. As you say, black and white thinking is not the answer but the facts around the above issues still remain.
Thanks for taking the time to respond to my comments. A few of your comments caused some sun to break through. I couldn't get the blinds down so I had to accept the Ray's(LOL)
Sincerely
Rocky
- I tend to maudlin humour at times - hense the reference to kicking my own ass.
