Don't apologize for saying what it was really like. It still hurts to read it, no matter how many times I've worked on dealing with issues from my past like this one.
My wife went out and ffed the same as you, while I took pride in being an "old man of the sea" fisherman à la Berg.
It wasn't long before my wife was in an escort agency, the next phase of the trend, sometimes I handled the calls, and drove her to her clients, which illustrates how the so called fisherman role was nothing more than pimping.
I can't change the past so I've learned to live with the shame (by forgiving myself) and I've moved on now. Might I add, it sure has helped me a lot to be able to talk about such past unwholesome experiences here on this board. We do identify with one another and we find support.
