She was finally able to leave at 18 though she wanted to leave long before, but they forced to stay in until she turned 18, even though we would have put her up, her own father, for heaven's sake. With her mother crying and carrying on saying how much she missed her and couldn't bear to be without her, she had no choice but to return. When she finally did leave, it was very hard for her to fit in and understand all that was going on around her. Her brother opted to return to the F. because of the new freedoms they were given - he could have all the sex he wanted and go out partying, he didn't have to be responsible. So even though he didn't like the F. he returned.
