They can't excom. the CO's, they need them to collect the HER funds (as in MARIA'S).
I am sure that the fam. found out about the excom. as the leaders went thru and gathered the HER funds before anyone could get wise and leave with them.
Nothing like that Sheriff of Nottingham approach of stealing from the poor to give to the rich.
What the SG's have done is great for their age group and experience of the fam. It would be good to see something set up for families or adults that are departing that is therapeutic and to help them get on their feet too. (As many resources as possible to specifically help survivors of cults and controlling groups.)
I saw a documentary about River Phoenix, and I hadn't realized that his family had been abandoned in South America and worked for a priest in his church for awhile, finally being smuggled on a boat to return to the states because they did not have the fare to return. Most Western European countries will assist their citizens to return to their respective countries. It takes a trip to an embassy. The USA is where more resources need to be in place for people who manage to get away but need to get out of the country(s) and have a place(or a number of places) to land.
