daughter's graduation and visit

Posted by MG on May 29, 2003 at 10:36:24

My daughter graduated with honors a couple of weeks ago. We sent her a ticket to come over for a visit, so she was here for 8 wonderful days.

She says she went from the 3rd grade education she got in TF to a university degree.

We had a chance to talk, and to vent, in a mutual way, not towards each other. It really was great, she understands more than ever how we were victims too, and the anger towards us isn't there anymore.

Come to think of it, we talked about some really sensitive things. For example when how I had followed fervently what Berg and Zerby had taught on childcare, and subsequently had sometimes being very hard and harsh on her or her sister and brothers. This subject and others we talked very freely about sans acrimony. I'm just so glad and proud of her.

She's grown up and had to really struggle to get where she is. Most of her fellow students are a few years younger, and she often felt like she had to catch up, I guess in many ways she was. TF gives their children no preparation for real life, working and living.
