I really like your post. When I think of that conditioning to repress our humanity, which we were taught to self-inflict on own personalities...I have to scream. (How good it feels to scream ...relief!)
It seems like in TF the ones who became leaders, were the ones who were able to develop this psuedo-spiritual serenity the most. In effect becoming unreal, far from being normal, from being just a person.
Personality goes down the drain... other cults cause the same damage I think. I haven't studied the question much, but that's my impression, I know it true from my experience in TF at least.
