What I find amusing is that even with unpaid, virtually slave labor, they are not able to make the Activated venture work. The Family is one of the most inefficient cults in the world. Why would anyone give to them? No financial accountability, and complete incompetency. They've been pushing this Activated thing for five years now, sunk probably close to a million dollars into it, and what do they have to show? Nothing. They're broke, and still reduced to their traditional modus operandi -- asking members for their inheritances.
Apart from anything else, The Family is a bad investment. It's a black hole. They are not even an efficient cult -- like Scientology, JWs, or Moonies. At least they made good on their promises to become a financial power.
It also shows that no one really needs to be afraid of the Family suing them or anything like that. WS cannot even survive day to day. They certainly don't have money to pursue litigation.
And you're right -- all the money comes from the System
