One org that may vary by name thruout the states is a Women's Center. In larger cities, they do not only work with women, but with families, single men with children, etc. Sometimes, when resources are limited (i.e. no insurance) it can take some time to find the right connections. If you want to say what state you are in, it would help with digging up resources. United Way sometimes is a source for references. Many individual therapists will sometimes take a client on a sliding scale fee that slides down to next to nothing. Another valuable resource finder for your area is a local crisis hotline number. You do not have to be on the verge of suicide or anything to get help or references. In my city, the local Rape Crisis Hotline is a good line to call to get info about a myriad of services for those without resources. So if you want to say your state, even your nearest large city, I will do some searching for orgs, phone nos. etc.
