I didn't mean that you were being unfriendly but that politics can become unfriendly, as we have seen in the past few weeks here. My grandfather used to tell me that politics can only be discussed reasonably by two people when both of them agree. History is a different matter as long as it is backed by facts. Too often these two are confused.
I lived in the United States and am also perplexed some attitudes. It is a great place where many good things flourish because there is so much freedom here but the same freedom allows other things to flourish as well. It is difficult to separate the good and the bad without affecting that freedom. It is a complex issue.
I must say, though. that not everybody has the attitude you describe, not even all Christians, that the American way is superior to others. It is pretty good but most Christians know that God's country is the whole world, not just a piece of land limited by some borders.
