That was an interesting article. And Colin Powell does have a knack for being precise and to the point.
It seems that every political org. on the face of this planet has motives that are not always just pure goodness and altruistic in nature. America has certainly bolstered dictatorships in the world, and defended victims of dictatorships as well.
As far as Bosnia goes, it is a strategic location that is of interest to the USA, I believe. I believe that was our primary political reason for intervening, or we would be rescuing those poor Nigerian women from horrific deaths and clitorectomies, etc. (Were human rights our only concern.) I am also convinced that many soldiers go to these wars with absolute good intention, and that some wars are worth supporting. There seems to be a general consensus that Saddam Hussein is a boil on the ass of humanity. To say the least.
Another thing is that the hate from the Arab war is more on the part of fanatics, of which there are many. Some in our own country whether KKK or Farakkhan.
I guess I think of America as having the best and worst of everything. Right now, because there is no question of the character of Saddam and the cruelties of his regime, I cannot fault those that fight for this reason.
Anyway, those are just some thoughts of mine and how I see things now. :)
