and I apparently misunderstand you. The book is about 3 generations and their experience under Mao. The regime took their character away because they were like us in a cult, giving their all and then every turn they took was undermined by the government. I meant that the government took their character and crushed it, that's what I meant. Yes, the chinese people as a whole are hard working and capatalistic, but not under Mao's communistic regime, that's what I am talking about. And ok, I'm sorry for accusing you of being just book smart, because I thought you were attacking my experience. I guess I'm just a little sensitive over all that is going on over here in the U.S. Forgive me.
