Well, you could look at history and say there wasn't in the 1991 Gulf War, though there were protests but not as strong. But France didn't back us then either. I see the same arguments as when we went into Afghanistan from the same people, but no one protested as strongly because no one cared as much about Afghanistan, there wasn't as much at stake. No oil, no money. Anyway you slice it, its always an issue of money and strategy, even with the protesters, though they would like you to think otherwise, as if they are the only ones with pure motives and the U.S. is the only one with evil motives. There may be truth in their statements, but there isn't a lot of good rationalizing. I also think that people are being motivated a lot by fear, they fear the Arab world and that's not a good thing.
