All very true. I had come up with the Bipolar possiblity when I was studying the DSM IV. I saw many patients who lied and ruined people's lives with no remorse what so ever. They were diagnosed as Bipolar. I've also seen (no as many as Bipolar) patients who were diagnosed as Schizoaffective (or similar) who had almost exact symptoms as those that were bipolar-so I don't know.
Like I said in an earlier post-Bipolar patients (the majority of the ones we saw) were into some form of substance abuse. I asked the Psychiatrist why he thought this was, and he said "they have a chemical deficiency and are drawn to these subsances (unconsiously) as a means of balancing themselves out".
I just find it very interesting...I'm not a psychiatrist by any means...I'm just sayign what I've seen-so I very may well be wrong :-)
