I do hope you read the articles. The family has a habit of calling people liars. Then after you join, they have a habit of convincing you those lies were told for sane reasons. (Which of course are rationalizations and dangerous). I am encouraged that you are researching the issue and not just diving in.
Another board you may want to check out is www.movingon.org where second generation members (people born and raised in the family for years, who got out) tell their experiences.
We are all witnesses to first hand information in varying degrees and could tell you so much more. But don't be deceived. The "bait" for a cult group is attractive, but hopefully you will trust those of us that tell you that under the surface there is a very sharp and dangerous hook...
