I think your daughter may have been born with uncommon determination to catch up and get on the same page as the rest of the sane world. You're right it has nothing to do with the Family's vastly-overrated "education" system. And to think, they send young teens to work in the nurseries and classrooms boasting that Family knowledge and lit is so superior that the world will be begging for Family pubs during the Millennium.
That kind of thinking is straight out of the Middle Ages. It's almost unbelievable that the Family can be so self-centric. They love to decry intelligence and say "it's wise to be simple" but the only help their simple-mindedness is to them is to help them believe otherwise unswallowable Maria and Peter letters. I say hurrah to any SGA who leaves the Family to get an education and to and FGA who, late in life, re-enters the workforce, upgrades, goes back to school and makes a go of it.
We don't have to be limited by our past but for some of us it's taken a lot of catching up. I think once in a while it does us all good to take off our hats and cheer a success story! Good news about your daughter!
