yeah, I think it is definitely a good idea. I know that when I was in Switzerland, citizens there routinely stock a recommended 2 wk supply of food in case of disaster. And they are a neutral country. I also know that they have 100% nuclear (high grade) shelter for their citizens, easily reachable by most. (by all in urban areas) And 2 yrs food supply for their citizens. Here in the states, sadly, it is hard for some major cities to adaquately repair the streets...
I guess i just feel like what I am powerless to change, I just have to deal with the fallout.(hopefully not literal). So yes, I believe it is good to have food and water for crisis time. To do everything necessary to survive.
I agree with your recommendations. I was just thinking though, how reminiscent it (not your post, but some safety recommendations) is of the Cuban Missle Crisis. I was a small child, but I remember people getting all this food stocked and even going into their back yards and trying to dig a shelter out. Then in school we had those drills where you go into the hall way, get on your knees and cover your necks. I don't think that would help with radiation. Sigh. But doing whatever practical things I can, yes, that is important :) Hoping we will get thru this safely.--Jo
