Ha - sore subject. We came out with 7 kids and I was pg with #9 (one is still in the F.). It was really the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life. We have never fully recovered. Both of us had to return to school after living on welfare for a few years. My hubby just couldn't find a job that would support all of us. Nothing came up, nothing worked out. So he went back to school for a college education. We decided teaching would be good because the benefits were so great and we needed them for our large family. We hated being on government medical assistance, they really treat you as a second class citizen and the quality of care is second best with very little that is covered. However, teaching does not bring in a huge income and with all the kids, our resources continue to get dried up. I had gone back to school also and worked as a secretary. Recently, I took a year off when we moved AGAIN! But we soon saw as we pummeled deep into debt that we couldn't do that. Yes, retirement is a long way off, but I'm happy that at least now we have hope of paying off bills and maybe buy a little piece of property somewhere away from the big city. We're working on it. I don't think we'll ever have money. I have seen other exers who left before us and with less kids that also had an expertise they had from before the F. and were able to do quite well for themselves, but that is not the case very often. Usually, it is quite the opposite.
