I think a very important subject that isn't much talked about is health check-ups after the family. An over all physical. Add to that going to a clinic (many large cities and some smaller ones) where you can anonymously be checked for exposure to HIV and other STDs. Also, for women, a pap smear.
Individuals just weren't important in the family (unless u were the top leaders). And seeking physicians was seen as disobeying. (Except, of course, post-mortem, then you should have seen a doctor... or you died for your faith.)
Another thing is that people need support from others (besides just medical) when they have contracted a chronic illness or HIV, cancers, etc, whether terminal or not. Take care of yourselves!
