I've never taken internal medication but whenever I get an outbreak, I reach for my good ol' antibiotic ointment, terramycin, which usually hastens the healing or at the least stops the growth. I also try to destress and detox, get enough sleep and proper nutrition. That would do the trick. My mental and emotional health has a lot to do with my physical health.
