That is so true. Unless they think they have some use for you, they will drop you like a hot potato when they've used up everything they can get out of you. Definitely not a true blue friend to the end. But as you say, some of the individuals can be, if they want to, but most chose not to. I am the same way, I have a hard time being all bubbly and effervescent, like I have to love everybody, regardless, and be happy regardless. Of couse, I want to be considerate and helpful, but I no longer feel that I need to force a huge smile on my face constantly and hug everyone and say I love you brother (or sister). That means nothing when it's just part of your religion, then how can it really come from your heart or have real meaning? It's not easy to have meaningful relationships, but forcing it out is not the answer to the problem.
