The way I see it, this whole catholic church situation is a precedent. To this time noone has been able to crack the COG with accusations of CA, or those who did, the COG has managed to keep it very hush hush. But with the catholic church being so heavily exposed for the CA, it sets a future precedent, and a new standard, that a religious group can be taken to court and sued and lose for CA. If enough young people and members got together and spoke out about their experiences in the group, it would probably have a very negative effect on the group and stir up the public and courts against them. Up to this time it has been a sort of here and there exposure, it would have to be a united effort of many individuals who were mistreated.
The thing I do respect about the Catholic church is they are facing it straight on, admitting to it, doing what they can to prevent it from happening in the future, cooperating with authorities, not trying to hide or cover it up. Perhaps they are finally being forced to, and up to this time they were hiding it, as the group has and is doing. The Church in a way has no other choice but to be honest about it, but at least they are being honest and not making excuses.
I can't see the group coming totally up front about these things, I can only see them as trying to hide whatever they can and only finally admitting to whatever they are forced to.
