Hi Tigress! I hope you do pursue getting help about this and therapy can be extremely helpful. Stress (finances, security etc.) often bring up these feelings and nightmares even more. Where you are do they have therapists that deal with women who have been battered? It is not uncommon for exers to have what is called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Nightmares and the type of anxiety you describe would not be unusual. The sense of Isolation, too. Maybe that would be a good place to start seeking a therapist? What do you think? Also, it helps to interview your therapist. Make sure they have an interest to learn about your situation. Maybe the German Treatment Facility that was posted here before has some good references for where to start. Anyone know where that was in the archives? I wish you the best in seeking help. It is, imo, worthwhile. And YOU definitely are!
