Nothing has really changed even though they constantly change things. Is that an oxymoron? In other words, they change this and they change that until you have basically completed a full circle and end up right back where you started. Supposedly, the kids were supposed to be able to go to college, they were supposed to be able to get jobs, I remember when one SGA came to live with us and told us all these glowing freedoms they supposedly had now. But it was all a smoke-screen and craftily put into place to give the pretense that they had these freedoms, but the truth in the homes was a different story. Only those who had the guts to buck up against the reigning mentality of all the home shepherds that schooling was secondary and not necessary could manage to get a foot out the door. It basically just didn't happen and most certainly not on a general level. It ended up that only a smattering of kids ended up going to college. Now they are back to discouraging any outside contacts, especially school. They never change.
