The last home I was in (in Seattle) was the same way-they were strange even for Family members. As a YA, I had my "ideals" and they just smashed them to bits. They had no clue as to what was in the Charter and put on a damn good show when the VS's came around (I'd told the VS's what had been going on-and they asked the couple who said that I was "out of the spirit" and "looking for attention". All very odd. It was a married couple and their 7 kids. I had gone to the home because I had surgery and my mom's insurance would only cover in WA. I was put onto child care as soon as I was out of the hospital, and stayed on cc until I left (crutches and all). It was like they had their own little world-my heart still breaks thinking of their poor kids.
