Wow - you have really singled out the stuff that we need to get to work on. I think we have our job cut out for us, don't you? I can think of tons of things to talk about that would be helpful.
The thing you brought up about thinking you would never fit in and how there is all kinds of weird people and cults around is interesting. I had the same kind of feelings even being an adult. I went to college when I returned at 39 yrs old. It turned out that my computer partner was a young girl in her 20s who had been raised a Hari Krishna and had left with her family. We would talk for hours, she ended up helping me a lot with my kids and what they were going through. She was a tremendous help, no kidding. I couldn't believe how she had been placed there as my partner and what a help she ended up being.
