Yes, there are plenty of stories of many other people to support your experience. They lied to all of us. I was a very devoted disciple and if told to jump I would ask how high. That was and is the type of mentality in the group, zombies without a will of their own. For that reason it is difficult to say that zombies have a mind of their own, if they did they would not be zombies.
One way or another we who are out came to our senses, either because we saw it while still in the group, or because we were told to leave and we gradually woke up to reality. Either way, we can now see the mess we were in before and the mess many are in today. We are not better than they are because we were under the same type of cautivity of the mind and cheerfully did weird things.
You are right, it is my opinion and my own experience that we stayed in for as long as we did, whatever the reasons, but it was a daily choice we all made. You have a different opinion and we may never agree, we don't have to agree.
