Some old folks are so into their pain and suffering not thinking that it was them who joined voluntarily. Some try to lump all SGA and FG together as if all had had the same chances. Doctors allow the baby to live in preference to the mother in case of birth complications. They go for both of them but it is the baby who has priority.
There were many reasons for people to join The Family. Not all joined to save the world or to serve Jesus, some sought salvation from their own hell by hiding as members but never found redemption. What they found was a worse hell. Some stayed in for a long time because they went up the ranks and took on the hood of abuse as faithful followers of the f---ing phony prophet of profit, David Berg, taught. Others left when the going got bad for them.
Not everybody was a happy-go-lucky hippie, there were many "systemites" and others who didn't suffered from alcohol, drugs or abuse at home. As there were many reasons to join there were many reasons to leave but it was all voluntary.
Some folks are trying to lump all of us together as if it were possible but one distinction they cannot erase is that between FG and SGAs. SGAs had no choice in the matter while most of us FG had.
