I know of a group here in Calif called Hope Now for Youth which was started by our former minister. He takes kids from gangs and gets them jobs. They have counseling and resource centers, but he does a lot of fund raising too. I haven't heard lately, but last I heard he had an awful lot of success. I should ask him how he got started.
You have a lot of good info and seem to know what you are talking about. I'm glad you are sharing this with us, maybe we can actually get something going.
I agree that it is not the majority of exmembers that have one foot in the COG and one out - if I came across that way, I apologize. But the ones that I have seen are the ones who are spending the most time helping exmembers and I think there needs to be some alternative to that.
