The Family has never officially recalled them and made a clear statement that such writings were wrong and not of the Lord.
They were forced to put the blame of any sexual abuse of minors onto Berg's shoulders when the British court case happened, the judge required it in order to reconsider allowing Sammy to live with his mother.
The Charter expressly forbids adult and child relationships, though I can't remember if incest is clearly outlines as taboo, homosexuality is, althouth lesbianism is not.
Some of these old letters, and most likely these ones mentioned here, were 'purged' from the books years ago when the big persecutions began to happen. I haven't seen these things for about a decade, though the shocking memories are still there from having read them long ago.
Which leaves confusion as to what the Family truly believes. Do they no longer agree that child/adult relationships are good and healthy, or do they outlaw them only for appearance sake and to stay out of trouble with the law? It has never been a clear signal to the group, at least as far as until I left 2 years ago, as to whether or not these things were still OK in the Lord's eyes or they were a mistaken doctrine.
When the court case happened it seemed to me that we had to deny these things, or place guilt on Berg for the system's sake, but that we didn't truly believe these things were wrong or evil, but we had to comply with the system.
So, I believe that some things, though the Family doesn't promote or follow it any longer, it is part of the core belief system, such as incest, adult/child sex, FFing, and if there were no legalities against it, they would still happily be practicing these doctrines. Until the day the Family makes an open statement available to all ex and present members saying they officially consider these teachings a mistake and they are no longer a part of the core beliefs of the group.
