Got to say Josh, that one hangover some people might have is fanaticism and hyper-religiosity. when I brought up the subject, I had in mind that there are many things that people might do as a result of having been in the family. After all, we were taught how to think, filter news, preach, teach, submit and lots of other crap which many churches, imo, use. They may be lacking in sexual abuse as a doctrine, but the control is often still there. As well as fear tactics, though in many cases not to the extremes the family has gone with that. So, I as an ex-member am agnostic. And that position feels very safe to me. "Sin" and religious beliefs to me are more personal and individual. There is no such thing as any one program, any certain therapy, any certain way to beleive, or not believe that fits everyones recovery. That is just what I think. You know, not just SGAs/SGs have had bible and abuse so shoved down their throats that they don't want to hear it any more. Many adult members feel that way, too.
