You seem to be a lone voice in questioning it. No one on this site or Jules board questions it because it has every single earmark of a sickeningly weak Family response to Daniel's serious challenge, down to tiny details.
Have you read Daniel's post on the subject? He pointed out that they had quoted his statement, several sentences long, but removed the word "judicious" from "judicious use of the media" and changed the word "abusers" to "individuals".
If the letter was a forgery, I seriously doubt that the thought would've occured to the forger to change those details. Yet, looking at it now from hindsight, that is exactly the kind of changes a Family editor/maria would have made.
You can believe what you want, but the letter is exactly the kind of response Maria and leadership give, insipid, weak, avoiding the issues, perceiving all calls for accountability as demonic attacks, warning Family members not to listen, asking for God to kill outspoken critics, etc.
