That is soooo F. though isn't it? You are so right in that what makes all this so much more horrifying is that Berg used the bible and this type of "God teaching you lessons" mentality to put guilt and fear in his members. It's really a control issue and a spiritual abuse issue. As you say, we have enough problems in life without someone helping us along. Berg did not do anything to help us, instead, he led us by the hand to what he called the promise land but it was really Hell in disguise.
