Everyone's feelings count. I look at the family as more insidious as the third reich. It started out so innocent at the SURFACE. Hitlers movement started out with positive steps of rebuilding his country. What were hitlers motivations all along? Power, control, absolute authority, a god-like position. How like Berg. Except Berg had a smaller more directly controlled group which made it much harder for dissent. Watchman did what he was trained to do. I was forced to have sex in front of other leaders in 71 when I was pg with my first. The dynamics seemed the same, and it was rape. I was also put together with someone and found the same thing as far as how I felt about him. The point is that men and women suffered greatly within. Why didn't we get out? For me, because for such a long long time I believed my doubts were of the devil and spiritual weakness, regardless of how sick in hind signt the things that happened were. He was one of those very "sold out" leaders in his time. And he did have that serious stare that many leaders had to "deal with people". But like the Chinese revolution, leaders were dethroned and humiliated in the most cruel ways themselves except for a very top few. As far as a perpetrator is concerned though, if the victim wants to pursue anything it is their right (in cases where the exer lives) BUT the parents of victims of rape within the family also have rights to expose or pursue those that have offended. Especially if they are continuing to be a perpetrator and that is the nature of that persons beast. Bottom line, imo, perpetrators need to face what they have done and pay for therapy for the victims, at the LEAST. Every individual situation is different. But Jesse, I don't see how you keep it in. Hope you can get it out. I support you.
