The Crying Game and The Piano SUCK - ick, ick, ick. And they won Oscars - go figure. I just saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding and it was great. Reminded me a lot of growing up and my own family. What I loved best about it is that it is an "in-your-face" type of thing to Hollywood and all their pampered and inflated egos, from the stars, to the producers, everyone. The girl who wrote the screenplay is a comedian and she wanted to star in it. She took it around to a lot of producers and they wanted to get some big name and beautiful actress and she stood her ground and said, "no." She wanted to be in the leading role. She finally found some small production company and they went in on it with a very low budget and it's a HUGE hit. I think that's one reason why it's such a huge hit - everyone is tired of Hollywood producing big budget clunkers that do nothing but add to their already stuffed pockets so they can jet around and step on people. Yuck.
