Feel free to help with such constructive suggestions!
What you described has been in the works for a while. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. In this age of spamming and unsolicited contact, this is a touchy issue. Privacy is a very tricky issue and has to be protected.
- The info has to be voluntary and submitted by first person basis
- The info has to be updateable and removable by the person
- The use of such info has to be declared openly and approved by the user
- If there are any changes to the use of such info, the user must be informed and have a right to change remove that info
There are registries such as the one at the exCOG directory, but these do not facilitate quick access, automated polling and surveys. But it's in the works. When the people section of this site comes up, I will create such a directory, for people to place their voluntary contact info, this can include ex-members, outsiders concerned with our issues, etc. Perhaps you will have many ideas for the implementation of such a service. Feel free to chip in!
