It is all so ridiculous

I don't know how everyone else feels but I think the question of whether family members do good or not is not the point. There are simple means tests to determine where family members are at:
1. Do you believe that Berg was a true prophet and a man of God?
If you answer yes you are saying you accept his prophecies. That includes believing that Berg speaks from heaven and passes on messages from Jesus and that Maria is the new prophet of God.
It means you accept the validity of the sexual doctrines including that incest and child adult sex are acceptable to God ( even if you don't practice them) If you do not you are "weak" or "doubting" the prophet. You also will give money to M&P who believe these things. If it was not against the law the family hardcore would be still doing it.
It means that prostitution of your wife or children at one time was OK and ordained of God.
It means that it is OK to physically abuse children if it is done in "love". ( The victor camps happened)
It means everyone else on the planet is in a lower concentric circle of service to God, are systemites, and can be used to further the family purposes. What did Mo say about this in a letter. "We rip off their children and steal their wives", something something, "...and they run for their lives". I think it was in "Forsaking All" or a letter in that era.
It means the girl in IRF'rs beware deserved to be murdered. ( How twisted is that)
I could go on for a week but I think I'll pass. Trying to figure out the good works produced by the family is like trying to sew a nice new patch on a ratty, pus encrusted , shit stained old rummy's coat. Throw it away and get a new one.
Let's step outside to example for a second. A missionary shows up in your town doing good works. You find out they are part of a religious group that at one time practiced and still believes that child sex, prostitution and incest are ok and decreed by a good man of God and a prophet who they still venerate and believe speaks to them from heaven.
Maybe I am an idiot but I think in the real world where most of us live there would be zero interest in any good works being done. Most people would be securing their kids and getting far away away from such wingnuts.
What is particularly galling is to hear family members trying to explain away such things or deny they happened. More painful yet for me is to hear others trying to apologize for the family or rationalize the current family membership.
I also think it is truly pitiful to even use the Catholic church to compare the the abuse issue. As an abuse victim of Catholic clergy I know a lot about the church and their perverted priests but there is NO way the church ever taught it for doctrine.
The only spiritual enclaves I know of who regularly, ( read ritually), abused children based on group approved doctrines are the Family and certain Satanist sects involved in sexual and blood rites. I know many of you may feel I am obsessed by this issue but I sometimes wonder if we all realize just how serious and criminal these issues are.
The sound of family music:
Here we are all together in the twilight zone of the Family,
Look there's Mo hanging on a sugar bowl creeping inside some kid's fanny,
Meanwhile back in the compound Maria's really cooking up up a good one,
You can bet this doggy's gonna be alot of fun.
Oops see the family members activating for the gravy
Sweating really hard to tithe to the crazy,
Up at headquarters they're rocking out the Momma poops,
Getting lots of cash for the loonie scoops.
Night comes quick with Momma on the big bed
talking on the telephone to Arty who's dead.
