I lived in Lyon (not in the family) when the big bust occurred there and in other cities as well.
I think it was 1992 or 93. A lot of poeple were arrested and a lot of kids got put into state care for a short time. All were eventually released and no charges were ever filed but the case was never closed either. As far as I know it is still open, although nothing has happened since then. I think the effort was really just to get the family foreigners to leave France. It worked for a while but I think they may have come back since then. The only foreign family members I ever met here (in 94) were so paranoid and depressed that they couldn't wait to leave.
