First of all I'm an "oldtimer" going back to May '71. I was at Zion. I was at TSC. Merkle, pioneering Toronto with the "fearsome foursome". Then Laurentide and Dorian near Montreal, then on to Europe.

The hardships actually did me good. I was not just a hippy completely burned out from psychedelics (psychedelics that increasingly were getting cut with things like strychnine) but at one point I had gone over the edge, flipped out and ended up in the psychiatric ward for 6 weeks, where I was given massive doses of thorazine and shock treatments. Within 1 year of of getting out of the hospital I was back on the streets doing drugs again. Meeting the COG changed that. So those early days hardships were like being at a boy scout camp when a rainy cold spell hit. That part was therapeutic.

Looking back over the long span of my life and my life in the F (because I did not leave in the 80's, nor the 90's, I didn't leave until the 2000's) the worst thing about the F in the beginning is still one of the worst things that they do now... teaching the fundamental doctrine that Berg is God's Endtime "David" and Prophet.

Because of his position he got away with all the excesses and even perversions that are daily exposed here on the boards. It's clear that he was already going way overboard in the early days, but back then only top leadership would have known anything about it. But he needed that elevation to the position of being the end time prophet to get away with it, then and later on.

I want to say a word about the F today. There are no longer any Victor Camps, and physical sexual abuse of minors is an excommunicable offense. The FGA F population is pretty conservative when it comes to sexual sharing too. In spite of all that Maria and Peter try to do to foster sharing and unity in the law of love, and sharing between consenting FGA adults, it is not practiced very much at all, at least it wasn't 1 1/2 yrs ago when I was still a member. Maria and Peter preach about it a lot, and have published a lot about it, but at the every day home level it doesn't happen.

I have a daughter in the F and she's is not a bad person and she's not doing evil. Of course I believe she could do a lot more with her life, but it's like the name of a very popular show on French TV, "C'est Mon Choix" (translation: "It's My Choice")... on this show a group of people with a particular weirdism about their life-style will defend their choice to be the way they are... of course usually there's another group of people on the show who are opposed that particular weirdism and they express their disdain for it.

Anyway, for my daughter and for those who are still in the F... I say, "C'est Leur Choix", that is, it's their choice.
