Do you have a bee in your bonnet or something? I have plenty of life experiences to draw from too, and I read articles on the internet (whoopie do) AND conservative magazines AND liberal magazines. That's because I don't want to get into one mind-set and ignore the others or think I know it all, which I don't.
Yes, I know the bible, Lydia, studying it since 1969 means I know what's in there and I don't discount it. However, I think a lot has been miscontrued by man's religions and I don't have to believe what someone else tells me they think it says. Neither do you have to believe what I tell you I think it says. The fact that you can only go by the bible and that's the end of your querry means I have to agree, that's wrong, IMO. You could be horribly wrong and insisting that I stick with your belief because "the bible says so." Gee, haven't we heard that before? I had enough of that mindset for too long, thanks anyway. I think God speaks in many ways, not just the bible and I think people who will only read the bible for their reaction to anything are missing a lot and getting stuck in man's religions because man is telling us what the bible says. Well, that's how I feel about it and you certainly don't have to agree - but don't chew my head off because I won't argue bible verses with you.
As far as saying the Indians were enlightened because of peyote, gee, where in tarnation do you think I said that? You're pissed because your statements sound, to me, like they came out of a conservative magazine - and they do - so you're coming at me with both barrels blasting and making up stuff I never even said. You're losing credibility here. Try to see past how pissed you are at me (for whatever reason) and stick with the issues.
