You mean aside from:
- advocated sexual relations between minors and adults
- allowed child abuse to happen
- their writings encouraged child abuse
- their leaders promoted child abuse
- countless SGAs from your generation and about a decade under being abused, some quite severely
- unforgiveable unmendable damage
- other infuriating physical acts the Family perpetrated trhough the victor programs and the great degree of physical abuse it encouraged:
- - spankings
- - twisted punishments
- - extreme disciplines for what were considered the Family's miscreants
- FFing
- the degree of control the leadership had (has) over the members
- lack of educating their children
- the bizarre strict rules required for membership
- a lifestyle you neither want for you or your children
- inter-marital sex
- LJR
- lying about 'donations'
- using the public
- getting out of paying taxes
- abuse of contributions
and may I add
- thousands of damaged lives
- current practices to decieve the public
.......they are not a menace, not every individual in the group does or is responsible for these things, and it's really none of your business what they believe and practice??????
Well, in the COG, they loved to say "system." Don't be part of "it", don't be like "them," you should be outside of "it." One thing a "sheep" told me when I was trying to convince her to drop out and join was "of course you are a part of the system. 'System' is just a convenient label you put to avoid responsibility for your part in contributing to the decay. You use money, public toilets, take the bus, can read and write, wear jeans made in factories. YOU ARE PART OF THE SYSTEM YOU lOVE TO HATE."
Well those words stuck in my head. The seeds were planted and 3 years later I left the COG.
Don't like the System's pollution? Corruption? Injustice? Inequalities? I was either part of the problem or part of the solution. You think there are groups out there trying to decieve the public? You are part of the problem or part of the solution.
Since leaving I have done some growing up and realized that being in the COG was a way to run away and avoid responsibility. Running away from responsibility is all the Fam. is about.
When the Fam. denies wrongdoing and cuts off itself from its vile past, what is there to repair? What is there to fix when you you don't even admit to wrongdoing? The light superficial PR admissions only mirror the light superficial responsibility they are willing to take for making ammends.
Fam. members are required to sign papers to pledge allegiance to its leadership. The leadership in turn endorses and practices cover-up and denial and continues to decieve the public. Fam. members by endorsing and tithing to the Fam. support a vile and corrupt secretive system which abuses the goodwill of others. Fam. members are part of the group effort to cover-up and decieve the public and deny its victims reparations. It is hard to separate the deed from the doer, especially when so little of their thoughts are their own. Are you really able to be friends with Fam. members without having an agenda?
